Harriet Lerner
Harriet Lerner (born November 30, 1944) is an American clinical psychologist known for her work in women's psychology and family relationships. She earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin, a master's in Educational Psychology at Columbia University, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the City University of New York. She completed her predoctoral internship at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco and finished her postdoctoral training at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas, where she worked for over two decades.

Lerner is the author of several bestsellers, including The Dance of Anger, The Dance of Intimacy, and Why Won’t You Apologize?, which have sold over six million copies combined and have been translated into more than 35 languages. Her approach blends feminist theory and family systems to provide practical tools in improving personal relationships.

In addition to her work as an author, she has been a speaker and consultant, participating in programs like The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, and NPR. She currently resides in Lawrence, Kansas, where she maintains a private practice with her husband, Steve Lerner, also a psychologist, and they have two adult children.
