Javier Argüello
Javier Argüello (Santiago de Chile, 1972), an Argentine writer based in Barcelona, collaborates with El País, teaches at the Ateneu Barcelonès, and has worked in cinema. He has published the books Siete cuentos imposibles (Lumen, 2001), El día que me quieras, an anthology of tangos (Lumen, 2004), Los mejores poemas de amor, a romantic anthology by Pablo Neruda (Lumen, 2006), El mar de todos los muertos (Lumen, 2008), La música del mundo (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2011) and A propósito de Majorana (Literatura Random House, 2015)

He was the winner of the Paula short story contest, judged by a panel chaired by Enrique Vila-matas, in 2000, and of the Josep Palau i Fabre Essay Prize. Additionally, his short film Fuera de servicio earned him the award at the International Festival of Saint Petersburg in the debut category; an honorable mention at the festival organized by the New School, New York; and the jury prize at the Cartagena de Indias International Festival.
