Juan Manuel de Prada
Juan Manuel de Prada (Baracaldo, 1970) is a Spanish writer, essayist, and literary critic. Graduated in Law from the University of Salamanca, he became known with Coños and the collection of stories El silencio del patinador (1995). His first novel, Las máscaras del héroe (1996), earned him the RNE Ojo Crítico Narrative Award in 1997. In 1997, he won the Planeta Prize for La tempestad.
Among his most notable works are La vida invisible (2003), awarded the Primavera Prize and the National Narrative Prize; El séptimo velo (2007), which received the Biblioteca Breve Prize; and El castillo de diamante (2015), deserving the Castilla y León Critics' Prize in 2016. His production spans novels, essays, and opinion articles, establishing himself as an influential figure in contemporary Spanish literature.
