Michael Dante DiMartino
Michael Dante DiMartino (Shelburne, Vermont, July 18, 1974) is a renowned American animator, producer, screenwriter, and animation director. He graduated in 1996 from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he met Bryan Konietzko, with whom he co-created the successful animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (2005-2008) and "The Legend of Korra" (2012-2014) for Nickelodeon.
In addition to his work in television, DiMartino published the novel "Rebel Genius" in 2016, aimed at young audiences. In 2018, he was announced as the executive producer and showrunner for the live-action adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" for Netflix, though he later left the project in 2020 due to creative differences. In 2021, he co-founded Avatar Studios, dedicated to expanding the Avatar universe through new animated series and movies.
