Pablo Torche
Pablo Torche (Santiago de Chile, 1974) is a Chilean writer and psychologist, with a Master's in English Literature from the University of London. He began doctoral studies in the same field, but abandoned them after two years, disenchanted with the cold academicism of literary studies. His literary career started with the storybooks Superheroes (2001) and In the Company of Actors (2004), both awarded the Best Literary Works Prize of Chile. Later, he published the novels Acqua alta (2009) and Filomela (2012), exploring themes such as love in decadent contexts and the reinterpretation of classic myths in contemporary settings.

In 2024, Torche released Starry Night, a novel that recreates the most productive year of Vincent van Gogh in Arles, addressing his battle against delirium and madness, and the power of art as a path to salvation. The work has been well received for its careful historical setting and its exploration of the relationship between art and madness. Besides his work as a writer, Torche has founded and edited cultural magazines like Intemperie and Battlefield, and offers literary workshops focused on figures like Van Gogh and Dostoevsky.
