Tsujimura Mizuki
Mizuki Tsujimura (Fuefuki, Yamanashi, 1980) is a Japanese writer known for her mystery novels and youth literature. She debuted in 2004 with Tsumetai Kōsha no Toki wa Tomaru, a work that earned her the Mephisto Prize. Her career includes notable titles such as Tsunagu (2011), awarded the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for New Writers, and Kagi no nai Yume wo Miru (2012), which won her the prestigious Naoki Prize. Additionally, she has ventured into film as a screenwriter for Doraemon: Nobita no Getsumen Tansaki (2019).

Her most internationally known novel is The Castle Through the Mirror (Kagami no Kojō, 2017), which received the Japan Booksellers' Award in 2018. The work was adapted into manga by Tomo Taketomi and into an animated film by A-1 Pictures in 2022. Tsujimura combines fantastical elements with social themes such as bullying and mental health, establishing herself as an influential voice in contemporary Japanese literature.
