Friedrich Daniel Ernst Schleiermacher (1768–1834) fue un teólogo, filósofo, filólogo y traductor alemán, considerado una de las figuras fundacionales de la hermenéutica moderna. Su pensamiento transformó la interpretación de los textos al proponer que comprender una obra exige atender tanto a su contexto histórico y lingüístico como a la intención singular de su autor.
