Daniel Samper Pizano (Bogotá, June 8, 1945) is a Colombian journalist, writer, and scriptwriter, known for his sharp social criticism and refined humor. He studied Law at Javeriana University and earned a master's degree in journalism at the University of Kansas. He was a reporter and editor at El Tiempo, where he founded the investigative unit, and editor of the magazine Cambio 16 in Spain. Since 1986 he has lived in Madrid and is a corresponding member of the Colombian Academy of Language.

He has published more than thirty books, including Lecciones de histeria de Colombia (1993), Nuevas lecciones de histeria de Colombia (1994), Versos chuecos (2005), and Breve historia de este puto mundo (2015). His work spans genres such as essays, chronicles, and novels, always with a humorous approach. He has received awards such as the Maria Moors Cabot from Columbia University, the King of Spain, and the Simón Bolívar three times. Additionally, he was a scriptwriter for the series Dejémonos de vainas and co-founder of the journalistic portal Los Danieles.
