La madrugada del 12 de julio de 2005 un joven empresario desapareció en extrañas circunstancias en la Ciudad de México. Esta es la historia de un duelo fabricado que se convirtió en un descarado circo mediático; el mito de una madre que, bajo la fachada de una mujer devastada, torció los hechos para ganar notoriedad e influencia, mientras destruía la vida de muchas personas inocentes. Ricardo Raphael explora la paradoja que significa que una persona pueda ser víctima y victimaria al mismo tiempo: una manipulación de la realidad que sucede si la verdad se subordina a la política y si las instancias responsables de impartir justicia son sustituidas por un increíble entramado de corrupción, crueldad y tráfico de influencias.

He was born in Mexico City in 1968. He is a writer and journalist. Among his books are El otro México (Temas de Hoy, 2011), Mirreynato (Temas de Hoy, 2014), Periodismo urgente (Ariel-INAI, 2017) and Hijo de la guerra (Seix Barral, 2019), a novel finalist for the Rómulo Gallegos award (2020). He publishes three times a week the column «Política Zoom» in Milenio Diario; he is the host of the morning news show A Ras de Tierra (ADN 40), as well as the weekly programs No hay lugar común (ADN 40), Calle 11 (Canal Once) and Multiverso Milenio (Milenio TV).

Among his research, those related to the justice system, inequality, discrimination, and human rights stand out.
