Die Klagelieder sind Krisenliteratur. Sie verarbeiten ein konkretes historisches Ereignis in poetischer Sprache: die Zerstorung der Stadt Jerusalem und des Tempels 587 v. Chr. Marianne Grohmann deutet in ihrem Kommentar die Klagelieder als literarische, historische, anthropologische und theologische Texte.
