Se hace patente el egosmo humano.La historia es sencilla: Gregor Samsa, un joven de 23 aos mantiene econm icamente a su familia .sus padres y su hermana Grete- trabaj ando como viajante de comercio. Una maana se despierta trans formado en un espantoso insecto (aparentemente un escarabajo ); ha sufrido una metamorfosis o transformacin que le impide seguir con su trabajo. Su familia es la que ahora debe hace rse cargo de su cuidado y su manutencin. Surgen los problema s, las quejas y la incomprensin de los suyos, que poco a poc o se van alejando de l, intentando deshacerse de sus respons abilidades. Se produce una lucha interna entre la repugnanc ia que les produce el horroroso ser en que Gregor se ha conv ertido y los lazos afectivos y familiares.'
