Synopsis "La tregua (in Spanish)"

Primo Levi (Turín, 1919-1987) nació en el seno de una familia judía asentada en Piamonte. En 1941 se graduó en Química en la Universidad de Turín, una actividad que compaginaría posteriormente con su actividad literaria. Tras participar en la resistencia antifascista del norte de Italia, fue capturado y deportado al campo de concentración de Auschwitz, donde trabajó como esclavo en una planta industrial. Tras la liberación del campo por el Ejército Rojo, en 1945, y un azaroso periplo por el este de Europa, Levi regresó a Turín, donde publicó su primer testimonio sobre los campos de exterminio nazis, Si esto es un hombre (1947). Siguieron La tregua (1963) y Los hundidos y los salvados (1986), reflexiones también sobre la experiencia del horror, que conforman la Trilogía de Auschwitz (El Aleph, 2005). Asimismo, entre sus obras destacan los cinco libros de cuentos incluidos en este violumen: Historias naturales (1966), Defecto de forma (1971), El sistema periódico (1971), Lilit y otros relatos (1975) y Última navidad de guerra (2000).

He was born into a Jewish family settled in Piedmont. In 1941, he graduated as a chemist from the University of Turin, a profession he would later combine with his literary activity. After participating in the resistance in northern Italy, he was captured and deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Following the liberation of the camp in 1945, and after a hazardous journey through Eastern Europe, Levi returned to Turin, where he published his first account of the Nazi extermination camps, If This Is a Man (1947), a foundational book of concentration camp literature

Subsequently, The Truce (1963) and The Drowned and the Saved (1986) were published, two essential titles that complete the Auschwitz Trilogy. Among his works are also his five volumes of stories: Natural Histories, Structural Defect, The Periodic Table, Lilith and Other Stories, and Last Christmas of War.
