This new collection by Portland poet Greg Simon illustrates his sweepinginvolvement in American and world poetry for over six decades; stories he learnedfrom the men and women he met, and his travels to California, Iowa, France,Nicaragua, Norway and Spain. The book is an "idea-o-logue of poetry and atravelogue of life" as a poet and translator.Greg Simon was born in Minnesota, but has lived most of his life in the PacificNorthwest. He was educated in Seattle, Iowa City, and Palo Alto, and has an MFA inCreative Writing from Stanford University. He is the co-translator, with Steven F.White and Christopher Maurer, of Federico Garcia Lorca's Poeta en Nueva York,published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux in 1988. Other Simon/White collaborationsinclude books of poetry by Gaston Baquero (Cuba), Pablo Antonio Cuadra(Nicaragua), and Ruben Dario (Nicaragua). He has been a contributing andtranslation editor for Porch, White Pine Press, The Salt River Review, and TraskHouse Books. In 2018 he published a book of sonnets, Follow Her, with Cave MoonPress.
