A child wanders into the home of three bears; elsewhere, a lost puppy searches for somewhere to belong. Such immediate, stage-ready situations animate this collection of ten children's puppet plays, where comedy, fantasy and moral questions unfold through dialogue, movement and theatrical surprise. Written for performances from lower-junior to senior classes, the scripts invite young players to explore friendship, kindness, courage and deception without losing the playful possibilities of puppet theatre. From Christmas rooms and workshops to the Australian bush, a racecourse and a Chinese garden, each setting opens a different imaginative world. Animals form loyal companionships, fairy-tale figures encounter transformation, and characters must judge appearances, claims and choices. Music, dance and audience participation broaden the performance possibilities, while shifts between farce, animal stories, Christmas drama and fairy tale give groups scope to choose material suited to different ages and occasions. Practical production guidance supports the scripts, helping school and club performers translate written scenes into workable puppet theatre. The collection balances entertainment with moral instruction, using humour, fantasy and dramatic conflict to engage both performers and audiences. Its varied roles and settings encourage experimentation with voice, staging and theatrical transformation, while familiar story forms sit beside material drawn from distinctive cultural and imaginative traditions. This book was out of print for decades and is now republished by Alpha Editions. It has been restored for today's and future generations. This edition is not just a reprint - it's a collector's item and a cultural treasure.
