Myriam Bregman was born in Timote, Buenos Aires province. She graduated as a lawyer from the Law School (UBA), where she began her activism in the Socialist Workers' Party, of which she is now a leader. She was a city legislator and national deputy; in 2023, she led the presidential ticket of the Left Front. She is a university professor and chairs the Center for Professionals for Human Rights (CEPRODH), an organization that defends the rights of the working class, democratic freedoms, and politically persecuted individuals. Some of the rulings she achieved set precedents. She is the lawyer for recovered factories. She also participated in emblematic trials that convicted Miguel Etchecolatz, Alfredo Astiz, and other genocidaires of the last dictatorship. She represents Patricia Walsh in the cases of her father, Rodolfo Walsh, and her sister Victoria. In the National Congress, she focused her work on defending the rights of workers, women, sexual diversity, youth, and environmental protection.
