J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973) was an influential British writer, poet, philologist, and professor, famous for his heroic fantasy works. Among his most notable creations are “The Hobbit”, “The Lord of the Rings” (epic trilogy), and “The Silmarillion”, which explore the world of Middle Earth.

Professor at the University of Oxford and member of the literary group the Inklings (with C.S. Lewis), Tolkien was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1972. His work has marked a milestone in fantasy literature.

Está bien esta edición para llevar en la cartera e ir leyendo a todas partes. El libro es una maravilla, no se puede obviar si se desea comprender el universo de Tolkien. Espero que traigan todos los volúmenes de la Historia de la Tierra Media y también los volúmenes de La historia del Señor de los Anillos para terminar mi biblioteca de Tolkien porque es muy difícil conseguirlos todos.
