John Gottman, born in 1942 in the Dominican Republic, is a renowned American psychologist specialized in the scientific study of couple relationships and divorce prediction. Emeritus Professor at the University of Washington, he is the co-founder of the Gottman Institute along with his wife Julie Schwartz Gottman.
